PART II
Next morning I woke up pretty early. The sun was already high up in the sky… but Paddy was still sleeping peacefully. I took a look at him. He was like an angel. His long hair was spread over the bed and his body – he had a really attractive body. He wasn't fat at all, actually he was pretty thin, but quite muscoulous. Only later I found out that this was because of the never ending concerts and because of all that energy he put in each concert… He was lying on his stomach wearing only his boxer shorts and I couldn't not to notice his cute butt. I smiled a bit. Then I got up from the bed and went to the bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror. It was terrible. All that wounds all over my face… suddenly Paddy stood up behind me. I turned around. »Hi,« I said. He said nothing but came closer to me. Then he finally spoke up: »My love…« I blushed a little. I wasn’t really used to phrases like this, although I had had a nice number of boyfriends. But no one was like Paddy. He was really something special… so sweet, so caring, loving… way too good for me. I didn't deserve him. »Show me the wounds,« he continued as he reached to me and held my face in his hands. »You're doing great.« »What do you mean by that?« He smiled. »Everyday more cute,« he said. »Excuse me?« I looked at him. »You must be out of your mind.« He laughed. »I'm serious,« he said then, »you're more beautiful every day that passes away.« »Paddy, Paddy,« I waved my head, »haven't you been told that is not nice to lie?« He laughed again and hugged me. I felt like melting inside. »Today is the big day,« I said. »What do you mean by that?« he looked surprised. »Don't you have the concert tonight?« »Oh, that! Well, just another working day. I'm pretty used to it.« »Oh! How many concerts have you already had?« »Actually I don't have a clue. Too many, I would say. We have a few hundreds concerts per year.« »Oh, really?! And how long have you been performing?« »Well, this year is the band's 25th anniversary.« »Wow,« I sighed, »This is even more than you are old!« »Yeah. Pretty cool, ha?« »Awsome.« He smiled and kissed my nose. »Shall we order breakfast?« »Well, but isn't this too expensive? I mean… we had already have dinner last night here. And now… wouldn't it be much more easier just to go downstairs to the reastaurant?« »He he… don't you worry about the money. It's not a problem at all. And remember that I don't want to share you with the others!« »Sweetheart, you shouldn't be so selfish…« »I know,« he smiled, »but I can't help myself.« We went back to the room and he ordered breakfast. Then he pulled me after him in the bed. »So what do you want now?« »Well, I think you already know the answer.« »I don't.« »It's very easy…« »But I still don't know it…« »Oh, you're so stuburn, pumpkin,« he smiled, »it's you, what else.« I smiled a bit. He was so sweet. Then he kissed me lightly on my lips. There was a knock on the door. Paddy stood a bit surprised: »Since when is the room service so fast?!« He went to unlock the door, but of course it wasn't the room service, but Angelo and Lucy. »Finally!« Angelo yelled. »I thought you two will never get up!« »We've been here knocking on your door for the fifth time now!« said Lucy. Paddy smiled: »Well, I've discovered that Julie is just like me: a deep sleeper!« »You two for sure match together,« smiled Angelo. At that point came the room service, so Paddy turned to his brother: »And now… will you excuse us? We have to feed ourselves!« »Sure, no problem. I'm taking Lucy to the stadio now… will you be coming there soon? Kathy is already waiting for us!« »Sure,« nodded Paddy, »just let us finish our breakfast.« And they were gone. Paddy and I soon ate our meal and then dressed ourselves. Paddy said: »I think you should give something on you to protect your wounds from the sun.« »Yeah, you're right. I haven't thought about that… but I have nothing with me like that…« »Oh I think I have a cap… yes, here it is! Try it!« I put it on and it was perfect. My wounds were safe. »Wait a minute,« he said. He took out another cap and two pair of glasses and he gave one to me. »Here, put this on.« »But Paddy! The cap is quite enough! I won't be needing also the glasses!« »Just put them on. Listen to me.« However, I obeyed. I put the glasses on and he did too. Then we left the room and went downstairs. As we were approaching the main door I noticed a lot of newsreporters and papparazies outside. I was surprised and turned to Paddy. »What's this?« I asked. »Eeer… nothing. Just walk on like they are not there. Ignore them… and please… walk as fast as you can, ok?« »Sure, but… what is going on?« »I'll tell you later, I promise. Now just go!« We went outside and suddenly they started to take photos of us, focussing on me. They were all around. Paddy grabbed my hand and pulled me with him as he stepped faster. I heard the papparazies yell: »Mr. Kelly only one… is it true that… your new girlfriend… What happened to her?!… beaten… Miss… what's your...« Paddy stepped even faster – we were almost running through the crowd. I didn't understand a clue of what was going on. As we reached to Paddy's car, suddenly some girls spotted out from the middle of nowhere and ran to Paddy. They jumped on him and he really couldn't get rid of them, although he tried to. They were asking him a lot of questions, autographs, photos… He looked at me and made a face. Obviously he didn't like those girls. He tried to send them away somehow, but it didn't seem to work,so he simply pushed them away and sat in the car. We drove away. I looked at Paddy. »Just fans,« he said, »you'll get used to it. They are everywhere, worse than leeches… Mostly they are just looking for an autograph and a photo, they are not dangerous. But there are some who follow us everywhere we go. It's so annoying.« »So, this is why we had to disguise ourselves?« »No, not because of the fans, but because of the papparazies. I don't want them to torn you away, and the only way to avoid this is not let them know you. Do you understand?« »Well, pretty much yes.« A moment of silence. »What would happen if…« I turned to Paddy again. »If what?« »Well, all of those papparazies and all… what would actually happen if they saw me or they knew my name?« »You don't want to know.« »Please, Paddy…« We were still driving to the stadio. »Well… many things could happen to you, I guess. First of all they would non-stop be calling you by te phone, asking you too many questions, they would be all around your house, always be taking photos of you, seeking for you and making up a lot of stories about you…« »Why?« »Because they saw you with me.« »Is this a bad thing?« »Well, no, of course not, but they always turn it all around. For example… if they saw a famous couple arguing a bit, it would be in the next paper showed by a big red headline and it would be written for sure about broken noses, blood and hospital. And I don't want them making up stories about you. I care about you too much to let this happen. Did you understand now why?« »I did.« We came to the stadio. There were plenty of teenage girls along the sidewalk and all around the stadio. It was like being in an ant-hill. As they saw Paddy's limo they all ran to the car and took photos. I felt a bit uncomfortable with all those girls tapping on my window. Also Paddy went a bit nervous, but he managed to drive his car safelly through the crowd. He parked and the security closed the gate. We went to their changing-room. There were Lucy and Angelo making small talks. »Hi there!« said Angelo. »Finally you made it! We thought you got lost or something,« said Lucy. »We're fine. Such a crowd out there! I barely managed to get through it,« sighed Paddy. »Yeah… it will be all full tonight.« said Angelo. »Guess so.« »Come on, Paddy, let's move now! The others are already on the stage.« »Sure, let's go.« Paddy took my hand and led me to the stage. Lucy and I sat on the side while Paddy grabbed his guitar and Angelo sat down the drums. Paddy yelled to his family: »Hi, folk. Sorry we're late. Let's start… one, two, three, four!« And the whole family started to play 'Proud Mary'. I took a look on them. They were wearing strange clothes. A really pretty woman was playing the guitar and she was wearing a nice coloured dress, beside her there was a young man with long hear and then the girl we met the other day, Barby. She was in a red dress standing behind the congas. Before the drums there was another long-haired man holding his guitar. At the keyboard there was a dark-haired woman in a purple dress, then there was another man with a very muscoulous body. Angelo was playing the drums and Paddy was the front-man singing the song. It was so weird. The whole family were wearing long hair. And there were so many of them! I couldn't believe they were all Paddy's brothers and sisters. During the playing of 'Proud Mary' they went into another song wich was sang by that pretty woman in the coloured dress. Paddy yelled: »Go Trisha!« They were fantastic. After that song they sang 'Thankin' blessed Mary'. I didn't know the song, but it was so beautiful! All the time that the family were playing there was a very loud screaming and the shouting of their name heard from outside the stadio. I thought the crowd out there must had been crazy. The Kellys finished their sound-check and Paddy, of course, ran to me as soon as he could. »How was that?« he asked us. »Oh, nothing really special,« I teased him. »Oh! So you didn't like it?« he was disappointed. »Silly! I was just kidding! Of course I liked it. It was pretty cool, actually.« »You, naughty girl!« he acted like he was mad at me, »I guess someday I'll have to teach you how to behave!« I laughed. Then I noticed his family coming closer to us. I looked at Paddy. »Such a jerk I am!« he yelled then, »I complitely forgot to introduce you to the family!« »No problem, man,« said the guy with the muscoulous body, »we can do it by ourselves, you know.« »Oh, then I'm not gonna bother myself,« Paddy laughed. The dark-haired woman approached us. »Hi, my name is Kathy,« she gave Lucy and me her hand. We shook it and introduced ourselves. »How are you doing?« she looked at me. »Well, actually, much better, thanks to Paddy,« I replied. »Yes, he truly did the right thing.« »I'm glad you think so, ladies!« Paddy joked from my back. Kathy gave him 'The Look' and he shouted his mouth. I thought she had to be like a boss of the family or something, because seemed like everyone obeyed her. I'll have to ask Paddy, I thought. »Listen, Julie,« she continued, »If you'll need anything in the future, anything, just turn to somebody of us, ok? We'll try to help you no matter what.« »Sure, thanks a lot. But I guess I'll be fine.« »Paddy mantioned something about you going to Germany with us…« »Oh, he wasn't serious…« »I was,« spoke up Paddy. He came closer to us and stopped behind me. He put his arms around me. I felt a bit uncomfortable but seemed like nobody really paid attention to it. »Paddy, you know I'm not going with you,« I said, »I mean – this is my home, this is where I belong.« »Home is where love is. Home is where you make it. And you know you belong by my side.« »Paddy…« »Well,« spoke up Kathy, »we'll discuss that later. Now, meet the others.« Everyone introduced himself: first Adam, their cousin, then Joey and John and then the pretty woman in the coloured dress: Patricia. We knew Barby from before, so she didn't have to introduce herself. After that we left the stage and went to their changing-room. It was lunch time so we all went back to the hotel. Again, there were many papparazies and fans taking photos of the family and of Lucy and me. But Paddy was beside me holding my hand and I felt safe.
After lunch everyone disappeared in their own rooms, but the four of us decided to go swimming in the hotel pool. As we went downstairs I noticed the sign 'Sauna' and grabbed Paddy's hand. »Paddy, let's go there!« I whispered. He looked at me, smiled and nodded. »Ok, sweetie.« Then he turned to Angelo and said: »Listen, we changed our minds, bro. We're not going to the pool.« »Oh, why's that?« »Just wanna be alone a bit,« he smiled, »since she's not coming with us to Gymnich I want to be with her every single second possible.« »But I thought she…« »So, meet you all alter!« yelled Paddy and didn't let Angelo finish his thoughts. He reached for my hand and pulled me after him to the sauna. We changed our clothes and put a towel around our bodies. It was so hot and stuffy inside. I sat in Paddy's arms. »It was so sweet what you said before,« I said. »What?« »That you wanna be with me as much as you can.« »But it is the truth!« I smiled and leaned my head on his bare chest. He was all sweating, it was really hot. »Why did you want to come in here anyway?« he asked me. »Oh, I don't know,« I said simply, »I have just always wanted to see how does it look like.« Paddy laughed: »Well, guess pretty hot, what else!« I laughed too, then I said: »Beside, here we are alone. With no others.« »Well, we could be alone also in my room…« »I know. But we can do that also later. Think about how relaxed you'll feel on the concert after spending a while here…« »…with you.« I smiled. He started caressing my bare arms and then kissed my neck. I loved it. He was kissing me again and again. It seemed like he couldn't stop. He travelled from my neck to my shoulders and then back up to kissing my face. I felt like burning inside. I searched for his mouth and finally we met in a passionate kiss. It was like magic. The time seemed to stop. It was just Paddy and me… and nothing else mattered. »Hi there!« suddenly somebody yelled from the door. Paddy quickly dropped me of his hands and I fixed my towel which loosened while Paddy had been kissing me. »Oh, did we interrupt you?« Lucy asked. Angelo laughed: »Sorry, we didn't want to…« »Oh, it's just you!« sighed Paddy. »Of course it's us, who else!« yelled Angelo and sat between Paddy and me. »Would you mind?« Paddy asked him. »What?« asked Angelo angrily. »Get lost?« »No way!« protested Angelo. »Yeah,« agreed Lucy, »we were so bored in the pool without you two…« »Well,« grinned Paddy, »we weren't bored at all. Right, Julie?« I blushed a bit. »Oh look, bro!« grinned Angelo, »You made her blush! Now see how you made me courious about what were you doing!« »Nothing special,« said Paddy simply, »it's not really for public.« »Uf, you're so mystirious!« teased Lucy. »Isn't really hot here?« Paddy changed the theme. »No, actually it's just to turn,« disagreed Angelo. »Well, I think it's like in hell, so Julie and I are going to cool ourselves in the pool a bit,« he quickly grabbed my hand and pulled me out of there. »Paddy! This is not fair!« yelled Angelo. »Come back in here!!« »No way! And don't you try come after us!!« »But…« »What?« Paddy looked back in the room. »I thought you felt just to turn in here? So, enjoy!« he closed the door. »Paddy, Paddy!« I looked at him waving my head. »What?« he made an innocent face. I put my arms around his neck and whispered into his ear: »You're fantastic!« He held me closer to him. »I love you,« he whispered back. I felt my heart like melting. I was sure he really meant that. And I loved him too. But I just didn't find the right words to tell him my heart. I kissed him on his lips and he did too. »Let's go to the pool!« I said then. »Sure.« He dropped my hand and ran to the pool. He made a jump into it. »Come on, Julie!« he yelled and all the guests looked at us. »The water is great!« I jumped in the water and swam to him. He hugged me and kissed me again and again. Then he suddenly stopped and said: »Oh, hi!« I looked up still in a daze. There was a child standing behind Paddy and tapping his shoulder. »Are you here all alone?« Paddy questioned him. »No, aunt Trisha is here and uncle Joey.« »Where's Kathy?« The boy shrugged, then continued: »Where is uncle Angelo?« »Oh, he… he is busy right now. You can't find him. But hey, Sean, come in. The water is great.« »I'm afraid…« »Don't be. Here, I'll hold you.« Paddy reached one hand to the boy, but still held me with the other one. When the boy was in the pool, Paddy turned him to me and said: »Seanny, I want you to meet Julie, my girlfriend. Julie, this is my nephiew, Sean.« »Nice to meet you, Sean,« I said. He looked at me strangly and then asked me really seriously: »Do you like Spiderman?« I was surprised and looked at Paddy. He didn't make a move but waiting for my answer. So I said: »Yes, of course I like him. I even had a toy of him once. Isn't he fantastic?« Sean's eyes brightened and he reached for my hug – I did. I looked at Paddy again and he was happy. He caressed my hair and whispered: »You're the best.« »Such a beautiful sight!« yelled a man from the pool. I recognized him. It was Joey, Paddy's brother. He and Patricia came closer to us. »First we even thought you were a nice family here. Then we saw Sean and we recognized you, guys.« laughed Patricia. Paddy looked at me. He looked so weird. I wondered what was he thinking about. »So, I see you met Sean?« she continued. »I did. He's a nice kid,« I replied. »Well, maybe. But sometimes he is unbearable. You should have seen how he once threw a cake, that Maite had baked, from the table… and he did it just for fun! But Maite was furious. She chased him all over the house!« They all burst into laughter. »I remember that!« said Joey. »Then Sean ran out of the house and poor Maite didn't have any power left to run after him so she threw the rests of the cake behind him!« Patricia giggled: »It was so fun! Poor Maite…« Paddy looked at me. »What do you think about going back to the room?« I was surprised. »But we have just come…« »Please.« »What?!« teased Joey, »Aren't we good enough for you, bro?« »I just…« Paddy didn't know what to say, »oh, what the hell…« he said then and pulled me of the pool. Then he led me back to the room. »What is going on?« I asked him as he was pulling me upstairs. »I'll tell you once we are in the room.« »No!« I protested. »You're acting so weird today! What happened?!« I stood in the middle of the hallway with only the towel on me. »Come on, Julie…« »No! I want an answer right now. Since we came back to the hotel you're just pulling me behind you. Why?!« Paddy stood. He looked at me and then reached for my face. »Your wounds are doing great…« »Answer my question!« He sighed and held me in an embrace. »I just want to be with you. Only you, no one else. I don't want to share you. Is this a good enough answer?« I said nothing. He led me to the room and then slowly closed the door. I looked through the window to the town. Paddy came behind me. »Sorry for that before,« he said, »I didn't want to…« I looked at him. »It's ok, honey.« »It's just… when I heard you saying you're not going back with me… I felt my dreams like crushing into millions of pieces… I was really looking forward for you to come with me.« »Paddy… I have never heard sweetiest words … you're wonderful… but you know I can't go with you.« »But why?« »It's because…« »Yes?« »…just…« »I'm waiting…« »Paddy, don't be mad, but I barely know you!« He was shocked. »Oh, so this is why. I see…« »Paddy…« »No, it's ok. You're right, I understand. It's true that we barely know each other, but… I thought you trust me.« »I do.« »Then why are you afraid of me?« »I'm not!« »Guess so…« I said nothing. Then I slowly turned to him: »Sweetheart, how can you say that? How can I be afraid of you when I love you so much? But you know that I can't leave. I've got my school here, I've got my family, my friends…« I looked at him. He was staring at me like I was an alien. »What's wrong?« I asked him. »…you…« »Me… what?« »Say that again!« his eyes brightened. »Eeer… which part do you have in mind?« »You said… you said that you love me!« I blushed a bit. I truly said that although I didn't want to. »Well… eeer… yes.« He took my face in his hands and looked into my eyes. He seemed to be so happy. He kissed me tenderly and then whispered: »I love you too… and nothing else matters. We'll find a way out. Now, let's just enjoy the moment…« He kissed me again… and again. Soon we were slobbering over each other. He held me tight to himself, but then lifted me up and laid me on the bed. I didn't want him ever to stop. I was on fire. »I want you,« he whispered gaspily while kissing me passionately. I said nothing but unbuttoned his shirt and reached for his touch. He groaned a bit and started slowly unbuttoning my shirt… till there was a knock on the door. »Nooo…« Paddy groaned, »Why? Why always at this point?« »Ssssh, Paddy… let's pretend we're not in…« He smiled happily. »Ok, let's do that!« Another knock on the door. »Paddy!?« Angelo yelled from the other side of the door. »Paddy, Julie!!… are you in?!« I giggled a bit. »It's so funny…« Paddy reached for me again and kissed my neck. »Guess they are not in…« I heard Lucy's voice. »Where could they go?« »I don't know…« Then they left. I saw Paddy barely managed himself not to laugh loudly. I put my hand on his mouth till I was sure the other two left. Then we looked at each other and burst into laughter. »Where could they go to check for us now? What do you think?« Paddy wondered. »I have no idea… and I don't care!« Paddy laughed again. »You had a great idea, you know…« he kissed me again. »Thanks, honey… I know!« I laughed too. He laid next to me and looked into my eyes. Suddenly the silence came between us. We both fell into our own thoughts. After a while Paddy said silently: »I feel guilty.« I looked at him: »I know, because I feel like crap right now.« »Maybe we shouldn't have acted that way.« »Let's go find them!« »Sure.« »What time is it anyway?« I asked him as I sat on the bed. »Let me look at my… oh my God! Would you believe that?!« »What?« »It's almost seven!« »What? It can't be…« »Well, better believe it. If we don't hurry we'll ge late to the concert.« Suddenly his mobile phone rang. He answered it: »Hello? Oh, hi… yes… no, we're ok . We're in the room now… I know… hey, don't yel at me! We're not late yet!… Yes, Kathy… we're coming right away…« I smiled. He hang up the phone. »My boss…« he said ironically, »she doesn't give me a break.« »This is the dark-haired one, right?« I questioned. »Yeah, that's her…« »I thought she must be something like that…« »You can't miss it, that's for sure.« »Well, what now? Guess we gotta go?« »Yeah, we'd better leave right now or else she's gonna eat us alive!« We laughed and left the hotel room. Surprisingly, this time there weren't too many fans and papparazies. Paddy and I were masked a bit, but they recognized him and attacked him again. I went a bit scared, I wasn't used to it. Paddy answered some questions, but when they became to courious he walked away. Those few fans were screaming his name… and calling me a bitch – as much as I could understand, because they were German. But we didn't pay attention. We sat in the car and drove to the stadio. When we got there I couldn't believe my eyes! The stadio was in a mess. I've never seen such a crowd before. The concert should have begun in minutes now – luckily, because this way was easier for us to go inside as the crowd was already in the stadio. Paddy and I ran to their changing-room. There were Angelo, Lucy and Barby. The others were already backstage. »Hi everyone!« Paddy yelled as he stepped in. »You! Who do you think you are?!« yelled Angelo back. »Where have you been?!« »Sorry for that, but we were kinda busy…« Paddy grinned. »It's not funny, Pad!« said Barby. »You made us worry about you.« Paddy went to Barby and hugged her. It was very touching the way he cared for her. »Sorry, sis,« he said softly, »I didn't want you to worry about us. We're fine.« »It's ok… I guess.« »Well, time to change our clothes, bro,« said Angelo. »Yeah… ladies, will you excuse us?« »Sure, go ahead,« we said. They went changing their clothes, Lucy turned to me. »Have you seen all those papparazies?! I couldn't believe my eyes when I got out of the hotel! Lucky you were masked, they are not going to recognize you. But me…« »Guess you'll be in the next paper…« I smiled. »Yeah,« she sighed. »Don't you worry about this,« said Barby, »you'll get used to it. It's a bit tough at the beginning, but then not anylonger. You'll see.« »Hope so…« we both sighed. A moment of silence. »What the hell is taking them so long to change clothes?« I wondered. »Well, they for sure are worse than girls!« giggled Barby. »Talking about us?« Angelo spoke up from the door. He was wearing a funny golden twinkling shirt and wide trousers with big flowers. But when I saw Paddy, I gasped. He was wearing a weird white shirt with very wide sleeves and a waistcoat – in the middle of summer! But more surprising – he was in a skirt! Actually, it was a Scottish kilt. I couldn't believe my eyes. »What happened to you, guys,« I laughed. »You look like you have just escaped from a circus!« »Well, thanks a lot,« Angelo made a face. »Actually, these are our like 'working clothes'. We have always dressed like this,« said Paddy simply. »So weird!!« »I know, but it's quite comfortable,« he grinned. »Sure, now you look like a girl!« I teased. »And aren't I a really cute one??« »Mhmm… the cutest in the whole world!« He bend over to me and gave me a kiss. I stepped back. He looked at me. »What's wrong?« he asked. »Nothing… just… I feel so weird now. I mean… this is not you anymore…« »I know, you're right. This is not the me like you know me. This is the way I am on stage, the way the fans know me. But this is not the real me…« »Oh, but actually I kinda like it…« »Really? Like kissing with another girl?« he teased. »Angelo, watch out, because you're dreams are coming true… the dreams of every man – see two women kissing each other!« He held me tight to himself and kissed me with passion. Angelo, Lucy and Barby laughed out. »Come on, move you butt, baby!« Angelo pushed Paddy. »We have to go on stage!« Paddy groaned: »You're so annoying! Do you always have to spoil everything right when it gets interesting?!« »Sure do, bro!« he laughed. Then we went backstage. Kathy showed Lucy and me where shall we stay during the concert so that we wouldn't bother their crew. We wished good luck to the family. Paddy and I kissed one more time and he didn't let me go till Joey pushed him away. Lucy and I sat down on the side of the stage, but still we were able to see the whole show.
The lights went
out and the crowd went totally crazy. Then they started to
call them on stage. We saw Angelo ran to the drums and
suddenly the beat filled the stadium. The lights turned on
again and the Kellys came on stage singing and dancing. They
were fantastic. I watched the crowd jumping and clapping their
hands as they were one. They were holding lots of transparent
with writings on them like: KELLYS FOREVER!, ANGELO, YOU ARE
THE BEST!, GOOD LUCK MAITE!, PADDY I LOVE YOU!… I
couldn't avoid not getting jealous as I saw all those pretty
girls screaming my boyfriend's name. But I trusted him. I knew
he was never gonna let me down. The concert went on. Paddy was
the front man for most of the time and he even talked to the
crowd. Sometimes he yelled: »Is everything ok?«
Then he shouted: »Let me see your hands!!!«…
He was fantastic. I wondered what did Lucy think about Angelo.
Suddenly I realized that we neither had the chance to talk
about this. I felt a bit guilty 'cause I knew I was neglecting
her. I promised myself we would talked about it as soon as we
would have the chance to. After singing songs like 'First
time' and 'Break free', Paddy came to the front again and
started to sing 'Key to my heart'. While the song was being
played he looked to my place several times to let me know that
actually I had the key to his heart. I felt so happy. Then he
took his guitar to sing another song. But before that he
talked to the crowd a bit: »Is everything ok? (the crowd
screamed)… ok!… We are very glad to be here
tonight, we like it a lot, 'cause you're a wonderful
public… (screaming again)… The next song I would
like to dedicate it to a very special person for me… to
my little alien that I fell in love with… (screaming
again)… Julie, this one is for you!« And he
started to sing 'Fell in love with an alien'. After an hour of
playing they made a break for »pee-pee« as Paddy
said. I went to him backstage. I wanted to thank him for the
song, but I didn't really want to bother him 'cause I knew he
was very tired. But he seemed to be truly happy as he saw me.
He reached for me and sat me on his knees as he was sitting on
a sofa. »Hi there,« he said softly. »Hey,
baby,« I kissed him long and deeply. »Mhmm…
that was nice…«he murmured, »Do it again!«
So I did it once again. »Aren't you tired?« I
asked him smiling. »A bit…but you always make me
forget about it…« »You're so sweet…«
I caressed his face. »You made me be this way.« I
kissed him again. »What was that for?« he asked me
surprised. »I wanted to thank you for that song before.«
»What song?… oh, you mean 'An alien'… well,
the pleasure is mine.« I kissed him again. »And
what was that for?« he smiled. »That was because I
love you.« »I love you too,« he murmured
softly while kissing me again. »Hey Julie! Come on,
leave a bit of him!« yelled Joey grinning, »He has
a concert to lead tonight! Don't you destroy him already!«
I became all red and didn't know what to say. »Mind your
business, bro!« yelled instead Paddy back. The family
all laughed out… and so did I. I started to feel more
relaxed with all about. Paddy had a really great family. I
glanced to Lucy and Angelo who were talking together. I
couldn't hear what about, but apparently they were completely
grabbed in. I turned back to Paddy. »Paddy,« I
said, »have you talked to Angelo lately?« »Sure,
why do you ask?« »What have you two talked about?«
I wondered. »Oh geez… I can't remember it right
now… about many things, I'd say.« »What
about me?« »About you? Well, every single detail!«
he grinned. »I'm serious, Pad.« »Actually, I
just told him how sad I am 'cause you're not coming with
us…« »What about Lucy?« I quickly
changed the subject. »What about her?« »Have
you talked about her?« »Well… yes, we have,«
he said uneasily. »So?« »Actually, can we
discus this later? Our break has just finished and we have to
run back…« »Oh sure, no problem, my love.«
He kissed me. »Have I ever told you that I love you?«
he asked me then. »You have…« »Oh
really? I don't remember it,« he grinned, »well,
I'll fix it right away: I love you, pumpkin.« »You
are crazy, Pad.« »Yes, about you!« »Come
on! Time to show now!« yelled Kathy and we all went
back. The Kellys led the concert on. At the end of the show
Paddy and Angelo came back on stage with their guitars. First
Angelo sang the wonderful 'I can't help myself' and then it
was Paddy's turn to sing. He said to the public: »We're
gonna sing you one more song now… (the crowd
screamed)… it's a brand new song, dedicated to
Julie… (screaming again)… it's called 'Thank you'.«
Then he started to sing it, very softly and tenderly:
"Feeling so sad now
Feeling so lost
Like there's no one to hold
Nor to rely on.
But you came along
You lit me again
Baby, you fired my heart
I thought this feeling was dead.
But now I'm alive
I'm finally free now
You rescued my soul
Taught me to live and to love.
And I wanna thank you
I wanna hold you
I wanna never let go
I wanna kiss you
I wanna feel you
My baby, never say no.
I long for your touch now
I long for your kisses
Baby I miss you so much
And you're not even gone yet.
I'm feeling your lips now
Searching my mind
Diving in passion
Before I swear I was blind.
You fired my body
You messed me around
And I need you so bad now
To help me back on the ground.
But I wanna thank you
I wanna hold you
I wanna never let go
I wanna kiss you
I wanna feel you
My baby, never say no.
It's only since you came
You made me feel alive
You made me understand
What does love now look like.
It's only since I love
I feel my spirit fly
I feel my soul above
And all just 'cause you came by.
And I wanna thank you
I wanna hold you
I wanna never let go
I wanna kiss you
I wanna feel you
My baby, never say no.
I wanna thank you
I wanna thank you now
For giving me your heart.”
After the song had finished the two brothers left the stage. I ran to Paddy and hugged him tightly. I was so happy and delighted, I was proud of being his girlfriend, because he was the best. »Thank you,« I whispered into his ear. He smiled and kissed me. But he was exhausted. So we went to his car to drive back to the hotel. He sat behind the steering wheel but didn't find the power to start the car. I looked at him. »You know, Pad, I would love to drive the car instead of you… but unfortunately I'm still too young, I don't have the driving license yet,« I said. »I know… but I can't drive right now.« »What shall we do?« »I don't know…« »Maybe we should ask Angelo?« »Oh, did he came by bus?« »Guess so…« »Could you find him, please?« »Sure, sweetie.« Luckily, the family hadn't gone yet, so I asked Angelo to drive the car. He agreed and drove us back. Paddy and I went straight to his room, but when I came out of the bathroom, he was already peacefully sleeping. I smiled, it was such a beautiful sight. He was like an angel. Then I tried to change his clothes, but I didn't manage to put his pajamas on, so I gave up and let him in his boxers. I covered him with the sheet only because it was in summer. Then I kissed him goodnight. He murmured something, but I didn't understand what, then he reached for me and held me close to him. Soon I fell asleep too… in Paddy's sweet embrace.
Another day came shinig brightly. Another wonderful summer day with Paddy. As I woke up, he was still sleeping, although it was almost eleven o'clock. I got up of the bed carefully not to wake him up. I knew he was exhousted, so I let him sleep. I snicked into the bathroom and wore my clothes. Then I silently left the room. I wanted to go to check at Angelo's but then I thought he is also still sleeping. I went downstairs to have breakfast. At the hotel main's door there was still a crowd waiting to see their idols. I turned to the restaurant. And there I found Lucy having breakfast, too. »Good morning, sleepyhead,« she greeted me as she noticed me. »'Morning to you,« I said back. »How was your night?« »Mhmmm… sleeping?« She grinned. »Where's Paddy?« »Still sleeping like a baby. What about Angelo?« »Went out to… I don't know where. He didn't tell me.« »So… that makes us alone at last!« I yelled happily. She smiled. »Yeah… at last. I missed you, you know.« »I did too,« I said pouring some juice into a glass. »We have so many things to talk about!« »I agree, girl. You have complitely neglected me! You had eyes only for your Paddy!« she teased me. »I know and I'm sorry,« I gave her a hug, »I didn't want to… but he is stuck on me,« I smiled. »Yeah… I'm so happy for you. Finally you found somebody who really loves you…« I grinned. »Sure… but only when he's not sleeping… and that makes like two hours per day,« I grinned, »I doubt he dreams much about me…« Lucy laughed. »But tell me,« I changed the subject, »What about you?« »What about me?« she looked surprised. »I mean… is there anything I should know?« »No, not really,« she pretended a silly one. »Lucy! How dare you not telling me!!« I pretended to be mad. »Speak up! What happened?!« »Nothing special, actually…« »You're doing this proposly, right? Come on, tell me! I'm dying of curiosity!!« She smiled mystiriously. »Well, actually…« »YES?!?« »We kissed.« I gasped, then exploded: »REALLY?!? When?!« »Last night…« she smiled with a faraway look. »Oh, Julie… he is so gorgeous… and such a great kisser… but…« »…but what? What is wrong?« »He already has a girlfriend!« »What?! Then why did he kiss you?« »I don't know, Julie. He told me that he loves her very much… but right now they are in a fight. You know, he expressed me his heart and he was so sad, because he misses her… I tried to comfort him… and actually I don't know how it happened…« »Oh… I see.« Silence. »Do you love him?« I suddenly asked her. »Excuse me?« »Do you love him?« »What came to your mind?« »Why? It's a simple question… Do you love him or not?« »But Julie! I barely know him!« »So what? Also I barely know Paddy and I love him with all my heart. This is not a problem.« »Well, no it's not, but…« »So, do you?« »I don't know, Julie. Yes, he is sweet, he is cute, but… I doubt that I could say to him: I love you. You know what I mean?« »Yes, I think so…« »You know… there is something missing…« »I understand. So, you're not gonna miss him once he is gone back to Germany?« »Of course I'll miss him! He is a great friend, and so funny…« »No, I mean – aren't you gonna cry after him?« Lucy was a bit surprised of the way I was questioned her so straight. »Well, I don't know. I'm not quite sure of it… but what about you and Paddy? Will you be going with him?« I waved my head. »Nooo… I can't. I can't leave everything I have here.« »But you know… he is right. You want be safe here ever again… having Peter so close to you.« »I know, but I'll take the risk. My life is here. I can't let it go.« »Did he get over it already?« »I don't know. I don't dare to start this conversation with him.« »Why not?« »Eeeer… actually…« »Yes…« »It's because I know he could convince me to go with him, and I don't want this to happen.« »So, you're not quite sure of it.« »I'm not.« »That means that I must have a word with your beloved… he'll convince you then to go to Germany.« »No, Lucy, please… don't do that.« »Oh, yes I will.« »Lucy! I can't believe how you want to get rid of me!!« »I don't want to. But it's for your own safety.« »There you are!!« yelled happily somebody from the door. Lucy and I turned around to see Paddy. He came closer to us and kissed me. »I thought you ran away…« »Silly! How can you think about that?!« »I don't know, you tell me – I woke up in an empty bed!« »Well, I didn't want to wake you up… you were so cute…« »However, ladies, may I join you at breakfast?« »Sure, go ahead.« After we had finished breakfast we waited for Angelo to come back. He didn't tell us where had he been and we didn't want to ask anything. Later we decided to go to see the sights of the city. Paddy and Angelo disguisted themselves… they wore wigs and glasses – I could barely recognize them! Then we went out of the hotel through the back door. Luckily, there were no fans. Paddy and Angelo relaxed. We went on feet to the town's castel on the hill. It was beautiful. We admired the view and took some photos for the memory. We made plans how to spend two more days left before the family would leave the town. After visiting the castel we decided to go down to the river. As we were approaching to it, suddenly Paddy's mobile phone rang. He answered it: »Hallo?… oh, hi!… now? We are down, by the river… what happened?…« Paddy's face fell down. »WHAAAT?!? Why's that? … but I thought we… yes, I understand,« he became sad, »we'll be there in half an hour. Bye.« He hang up. We all looked at him, I had a bad feeling. »It was Kathy,« he said sadly, »we have to go back.« »What happened?« asked Angelo. »Well, something came between and… we have to leave the town by six o'clock.« »WHAT?!?« I gasped. I couldn't believe my eyes. »I thought you'll be here till the 2nd!« »So did I, honey. But we really gotta go. There is no other way.« »I see,« I said sadly and suddenly I felt a tear coming down my cheek. I tried to wipe it away before Paddy would see it, but it was too late. »Julie!« he exclaimed, »you're crying!« »No, I'm not,« I turned away. He put his hands on me and turned me back to him. At that point I couldn't stop the tears anylonger. »Don't you cry for me,« he said softly. »But I'm gonna miss you so much!« »And so am I… but hey, we can call sometimes, you have my number, and I can arrrange to come here once in a while…« I waved my head. »No, Pad, you know it is not gonna work this way.« »Then come with me!« he said hopefully. I waved my head again. »I can't, Pad, you know I can't…« »But I don't wanna lose you!« he cried, »Not now that I've just found you!« I said nothing and looked down. »Come on, let's go back,« said Angelo silently, »I don't want Kathy to be mad at us.« We went back, walking slowly down the streets and not saying a single word. Paddy held my hand tightly, I had tears in my eyes, but I tried not to show them. As we came to the hotel, I asked Paddy: »Can you drive me home?« »Now?!« he asked unbelievably, »But we have still two hours left…« »Please, I just wanna go home, now…« He looked down. »Sure,« he said sadly. He drove Lucy and me home. First he left Lucy at her place and then drove to my place. He helped me brought my baggage in, then we stopped under the porch. We looked at each other. Paddy suddenly started to cry. I caressed his beautiful face, but then I reached for his hug. We held each other for a long time and no one of us wanted to let go. Then we kissed. I put all my love, trust, joy and sadness in that only kiss. Paddy felt it all. Then we looked at each other again. »So…« I said then. »So, this is it?« he asked. I slowly nodded. »Guess so…« »But I don't want it to end just like this. I care too much about you.« »And so do I… but there is no other way.« »Do you really think so? Because I don't.« »Pad, don't try to convince me. I'm not going to Germany.« »But why not?« I said nothing. »See,« he continued, »you don't have any reasons to say.« I was still quite. He didn't know what to say more. »Will you call me?« he asked then. I looked away. »Maybe.« »Oh, thanks a lot. Now I see that you don't care about me at all!« he said and turned his back. I let him go and didn't try to stop him. He sat in his car and already tried to start it, when I suddenly left the porch and ran to him. He was already turning the car. I went a bit worried thinking I'm not gonna do it to stop him. I patted on his car, but he seemed not to hear it, so I went on and patted on his window. He saw me and stopped the car. I opened the door and fell into his arms crying. »I don't want you to leave, Paddy!« He held me tight to himself and started crying, too. »I don't want to leave either, pumpkin.« »Then stay!« He waved his head and went out of his car. He was still holding me to himself. »I can't stay here. I've got my work in Germany.« »Oh, I'm gonna miss you so much!!« I cried into his shoulder. »Me too…« Silence, crying. »Listen, Julie…« »Tell me.« »You said you're not coming with me, right?« I nodded. »Well, this is for now,« he continued, »but what about later? I mean, is there any chance someday for you to come?« I looked at him. »I don't know, Pad. Maybe.« »So, there is a chance?!« he cried a bit happier. »Guess so…« »Then I'll wait for that day to come. I'll never let go, I promise.« »You can't say that… I bet once you're back to your home you're gonna meet some other girl and you'll forget about me.« Paddy looked shocked. »No way!« he exclaimed, »Cross my heart and hope to die!« »Don't you say that!« »But it is true! I'll wait for you. Wanna bet?« he asked a bit joking. »Sure!« I accepted. »Ok, so… if I'll keep my promise for the next six months… let's say till the end of the year…« »Yes?« »Then you'll come to live in Germany with me. Ok?« »Ok. But what if you won't?« »Well, if I won't make it… let's say…« »Let's say you'll just dedicate me a song on your next CD, ok?« »But, baby, this is gonna happen anyway!« »Then I don't know what to say…« »Let say… when we make up something we'll call each other, ok?« »Ok,« I said silently. I gave him my phone number. »I'll call you as soon as I'll make it,« he promised. »I'll wait for your call.« His phone rang. »Halo?… yeah, I'm coming, give me a break!… I'll be there in fifteen minutes!« »Kathy?« I asked. »Who else…« »So, this is it.« »Time to say goodbye.« I wiped a tear away. »Call me, ok?« I said. »I promise,« he kissed me. »But anyway we're gonna see each other in December!« he laughed. »Yeah, yeah…« I waved my head laughing, »Do you really expect me to wait for you so long?!« »You have to… we made a bet! 'Cause at least in December you're coming up to me!« he laughed. We kissed some more times and then slowly let go each other. »I'll miss you,« he whispered tenderly in my ear. »I love you, my prince.« »Love you back, my little pumpkin. You are forever in my heart.« He kissed me one more time, long and deeply, then he slowly sat in his car. I waved him goodbye and he sent me a kiss. Then he drove away.
