CHAPTER 20 - I love you because I need you

"Marie" Paddy yelled. Marie opened her eyes slowly, the bright sun stinging her eyes.
"Let me sleep" Marie snapped.
"If you want to stay out here on the sand, I'm not going to stop you, but a girl half naked sleeping on the sand doesn't look so good" Paddy explained. Marie stood up.
"Why am I out here?" Marie questioned.
"Chris said you guys were talking and you just fell asleep" Paddy replied.
He helped Marie to her feet and they started walking towards the house.
"What did you do?" Marie questioned.
"Well, I had some drinks and fell asleep on the couch" Paddy replied.
"No Katie?" Marie asked.
"Well, ya, she slept at the other end of the couch" Paddy replied.

"What time is it?" Marie asked, once they were in the car. Paddy turned the car on and 6am popped up on the clock.
"Paddy, I slept for 3 freaking hours!" Marie exclaimed.
"Yea, I slept for 2." Paddy explained.
They drove in silence for awhile when Marie spoke. 
"Paddy, I can over-react sometimes" Marie admitted.
"I know" Paddy replied.
"Hey… You aren't suppose to agree" Marie laughed.
"It's the truth!" Paddy replied, turning down a street.
"OK, I just was upset that I don't remember anything… you know." Marie explained.
"So, you're not mad anymore?" Paddy questioned.
"I wouldn't go that far. But I forgive you" Marie replied.
"Good" Paddy smiled.

In Bonn, Paddy's flat.
"Hey Marie, who are you talking with?" Paddy exclaimed. He leaned down and kissed Marie.
"Jess" Marie was short.
"Me and Adam are going out to get a drink, we'll be back soon" he said.
"Bye!" she kissed him.
"Sorry, it's Paddy, sooo… what about Chris's dad?" Marie asked.
"He works at our old High School cleaning toilets. I met him yesterday and we talked for awhile and he said that Chris left when he was 18 and he hasn't seen or heard from him since" Jess exclaimed. Marie was silent for a second.
"That's weird" Marie replied.
"Yeah" Jess replied. "Guess what!!"
"What?" Marie questioned.
"Paddy borrowed me his car."
"Great"
"Paddy said I can have it as long as I want or until I piss him off"
"That's Paddy" Marie joked. "I've got to run, Bye Jess!"
"Bye" 

"Adam, I'm really not mad at you for suiting us. I know you need those money, but my dad can't forgive you. You know that he is very strict. He is quite angry for us for lending you those money." Paddy said.
"You all are like brothers for me. I'm sorry for causing you so much troubles. I'll give you back all the money when I release my album and get in the top." Adam explained. "I'll do my best to make your dad forgive me."
"Yeah" Paddy replied.
"Who's that?" Adam questioned. Paddy turned around, seeing Katie come towards him.
"I see you everywhere, don't I?" Katie laughed.
"Yea" Paddy replied. "What are you doing here?"
Katie took a seat next to him at the bar.
"Are you guys bored?" Katie questioned.
"Listen, Marie's at home, why don't you take a ride over there and we'll see you later?" Paddy asked. Katie smirked.
"Is that what you really want?" Katie whispered in his ear coyly. Paddy sighed. Katie was starting to get on his nerves.
"We'll be right back" Paddy growled. Adam nodded and looked up at the TV above the bar.
"What exactly are you trying to pull?" Paddy questioned once they were in the back of the bar.
"What do you mean Paddy? I just think you are extremely sexy" Katie replied. Paddy glanced at her.
"I have a girlfriend" Paddy replied.
"And I have a boyfriend, but what they don't know, won't hurt them" Katie explained.

"That was Nikki French with 'Total Eclipse of the heart" the DJ, explained. Marie sighed. She was bored and she really wanted Paddy to come home. Marie switched off the radio and fell back on the couch. Finbarr walked over and sat on her lap.
"It's only you and me dog" Marie exclaimed. Finbarr brought his head up letting his tongue hang out.
"How about we play some music?" Marie questioned. She made a face, she was talking to the dog. She opened Paddy's CD shelf, not amazed to see over 500 CDs lined in rows. She scanned them, not seeing anything she liked. Marie opened another shelf. She saw the Kelly's 'From their heart' CD and smiled.
She put it in the CD player and pressed play-button. When the phone rang so she turned the volume down.
"Hello?" Marie questioned. 
"Hey Marie!" Kira exclaimed.
"Hey Kira. What's up?" Marie asked.
"Well, what are you doing on May 3rd?"
"I don't think I'm doing anything" Marie explained.
"Are you sure?" She asked.
"Well, I might be doing Paddy" Marie joked.
"Because that's the day Angelo and I set our date for the wedding"
"You mean next year?" Marie questioned.
"No, 3 weeks from now" Kira replied.
"Is that a little sudden? Will you able to get everything done?" Marie questioned.
"This is Kira you're talking to, I'm getting married to a Kelly. I can hire people to help me!" Kira explained.
"Good Point" Marie commented.
"Anyway, could you be my maid of honor?" Marie questioned.
"Me?" Marie asked.
"My sister, my aunt, and my best friend can't do it. I asked Amanda but she has some doctor appointment she has to go to" Kira replied. "She'll be there for the reception though"
"Whose the best man?" Marie asked.
"Paddy" Kira explained.
"I guess I can" Marie replied.
"Great! I need to make some other calls, can I talk to Paddy?" Kira questioned.
"He's not home right now" Marie replied. "He went to a bar with Adam"
"Oh, tell him to call me OK"
"Ok, bye" Marie replied. The doorbell rang, thinking it was Paddy, Marie practically ran to the door. She opened the door to see Chris standing outside.
"What the hell?" Marie questioned. 
"I love you too" Chris joked. Marie stared at him.
"Why are you here?" Marie asked.
"I was in the neighborhood and your guard at the gate was drunk as hell, so he let me in" Chris replied. "We need to talk"
"Why?" Marie asked.
"It's about Paddy and Katie" Chris replied.
"Then I don't want to hear it" Marie commented.
"What? Why?" Chris asked.
"You broke my heart when you had sex with my best friend Chris. If something is going on, I don't want to know." Marie replied. Chris was quiet.
"You broke up with me, if I remember right" Chris replied.
"You and my best friend Liz were fucking behind my back!" Marie snapped she sighed. She didn't want to fight. "I remember when we used to talk about all the kids we were going to have"
"Yeah, what was it 6?" Chris commented. "It was 7 years ago, won't you ever forget?"
Marie walked from the door and walked towards the kitchen. Chris closed the door and followed her.
"So why are you here exactly?" Marie asked.
"Because Katie's plan won't work" Chris replied.
"Katie's plan?" Marie asked. Chris laughed.
"It would have worked, but then you popped into the picture" Chris explained, Marie made a confused face. "You see, Katie heard about Paddy and his ex breaking up from a magazine. She called me, she needed someone to act as her boyfriend. I would get half of what she got from Paddy. I liked her so I certainly said yes."
"Yea, but what was the plan?" Marie questioned.
"I was getting to that. Katie would 'bump' into Paddy. She would make him fall for her and then explain to him about her boyfriend. To make a long story short, she'd tell Paddy she broke up with me for him. They'd get married, she'd divorce him, I'd get half the money" Chris explained.
"Ever hear of a prenup? You'd get nothing and Katie wouldn't get anything unless she stuck with him." Marie questioned. 
"That was something she'd try to get around" Chris replied. "Anyway, it would've worked. The problem is you. But in her words, you're just a tiny problem that won't be very hard to get rid of"
"You guys are trying to break up my relationship? Just because of money? I thought a fan would do it, but not my ex and one of my friends" Marie yelled.
"It always seems your best friends are the ones that screw you over" Chris explained.
"Yea, and you're always there to help" Marie snapped. She walked over to the door.
"Get out" Marie yelled.
"Marie, don't you want to know why I told you?" Chris asked.
"No, but you're gonna tell me aren't you?" Marie asked. Chris smirked.
"I hurt you once, I couldn't do it again" Chris explained. "You see, I was suppose to tell you how Paddy and Katie had sex that night at the party and she told him how we had sex. Then, when we actually do it, you guys would be so pissed at each other. It was like, playing you guys against the other."
"Get out" Marie yelled again. 
"You always had this effect on me Marie. I could tell you anything. Anyone else, I wouldn't have told that I had cheated on them or that I was going to make millions off her boyfriend. Maybe it's because I love you still" Chris explained.
Marie pushed him out the door and slammed the door in his face. Marie's backslid down the door until her butt hit the floor. She put her head in her hands and started to cry. She felt a tongue against her leg. Finbarr sat next to her, while she cried. 

"Katie?" Chris asked, walking into the bar. He walked to the back of the bar to see Katie slowly working off Paddy's pants.
"What the fuck?" Chris asked. He was trying to act like the mad boyfriend.
"Chris what are you doing here?" Katie snapped, shooting him mean glances.
"To get a drink" Chris lied. He felt like shit and needed to make it up to Marie. He walked over to them and pulled Katie off Paddy.
"Listen Chris, it isn't what it looks like" Katie explained. "I know about you and Marie having sex"
"Sex? I tried but she loves Paddy too much to do it" Chris replied. Paddy eyes went to Katie.
"You said…" He started. Paddy closed his eyes. "I gotta go"
"Yeah, I think you should too, she's probably crying her eyes out by now" Chris replied. Katie screamed and ran at Chris, slamming him against the wall.
"I was so close you asshole!" Katie yelled. "You are such a bum"
"And you're a stupid bitch. It wouldn't have worked. Marie has let so many people walk all over her, you and me included, but she keeps her feelings inside and acts like she's happy. In the end, she comes out on top" Chris exclaimed.
He walked away from Katie. Katie sat on the ground. She looked up and saw pictures of all the famous people that have come to the bar. Her eyes landed on Gil. A smile crept to her face. She would make her millions someway.

They had fun together in Bonn for two weeks, later had to leave to Rostock. Kira was having everyone get fitted for his or her outfits all at once. The wedding was going to be held in a week. 200 people at most in a small chapel.
"We better get going" Marie exclaimed, finishing off her food. 

Marie faced Kira. The smile on her face showed that she was ready. 
"You look great" Marie exclaimed. Kira smiled.
"All brides look great, even the ugly ones" Kira commented. Marie laughed.
"Can you never not be negative?" Marie asked.
"Yeah" Kira replied. She sighed. "Can I tell you something?"
"Shoot, I am your maid of honor" Marie replied with a grin.
"I've waited over a year to get married to Angelo. I still feel those little butterflies in my stomach for some reason" Kira explained.
"I think you're suppose to feel those butterflies Kira. You're giving up your freedom, you can't just screw anyone anymore" Marie replied. Kira smiled.
"Thanks" She replied. Some music started.
"That's my cue to go and walk down the aisle" Marie exclaimed, leaving Kira by herself.

"We are gathered here today in the holiest of all matrimonies where Kira Harms and Angelo Kelly pledge their undying love to eachother" the priest started. "Today these two beautiful people start a new life together, one that will go on forever"
"That priest doesn't make it sound so good" Paddy whispered. Marie smiled.
"I can just picture Kira running down the aisle like in 'Runaway Bride" Marie replied.
"Angelo, please repeat after me" The priest exclaimed.
"I Angelo"
"I Angelo" 
"Do take this woman"

"To be my lawful wedded wife"

"Get ready for her to run" Marie whispered to Paddy. A smile crept onto his face. Kira repeated her vows and then pushed the ring onto Angelo's finger.
"Do you Angelo vow to honor and love her, cherish and keep her as long as you both shall live?"
"I do"
"Do you Kira vow to honor and love him, cherish and keep him as long as you both shall live?"
"I do"
"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you Husband and Wife" The priest exclaimed. "You may kiss the bride"
"Here's the best part of the wedding" Paddy whispered. Angelo took Kira in his arms and started to kiss her.
"I think I see some tongue" Someone in the pews yelled. The wedding march played as they ran down the aisle. 

"Who yelled in the church?" Kira questioned as they sat at the head table.
"I think it was Jimmy" Marie replied.
"Figures" Kira replied. Paddy stood up on Kira's other side.
"I guess I'm suppose to make a speech" Paddy exclaimed. "What can I say about my little brother? I never believed in miracles. The fact that Angelo is here today is enough to make me believe in them though. The fact that Angelo is with this beautiful and amazing woman is another miracle. Kira what do you see in this pip-squeak? You could have me! Nah, I remember Angelo peeing in his pans, dumping his head when we were jumping on beds. He was always my.. our little brother. We all love you Angelo and I wish you the best"
"Thanks" Angelo replied with a grin. Paddy handed the microphone to Marie.
"I have to talk?" Marie whimpered. She stood up holding the mic. "You probably all don't know me, I'm Marie Reno, I'm Paddy's girlfriend and a good friend of Kira and Angelo. Let me start by saying these two make the cutest couple, the way they act around eachother tells you just how much they love eachother. I don't have a story from her childhood, because I met her a few months ago." 
"Thanks Marie" Kira joked. Marie smiled.
"She's a great person and they're both so immature, they make a great couple. I know they'll be around for a long time. Angelo and Kira, keep on loving each other." Marie exclaimed. She sat down.
"Was that good?" Marie asked once the microphone was off.
"I'm so emotional right now. If you would have said that we are a terrible couple I would still be thanking you" Kira replied.

"I haven't seen Marie all night" Jess exclaimed.
"She's in the bathroom" Paddy replied.
Jess walking into the bathroom to see Marie sitting on a couch.
"Wow, you look like you're having fun" Jess commented.
"Yea" Marie replied. "Angelo and Kira are together forever now… it's so sweet. And she is pregnant."
"So, how's Paddy, everything I've ever dreamed of?" Jess asked.
"All that and more" Marie replied. Jess walked over and sat next to her. "You Jess, you're knocked up"
"I know" Jess replied.

"They're a lot better then you" Marie commented. Paddy and Marie sat in the hotel room watching TV.
"No way" Paddy replied.
"A lot funnier. You should make a funny video. The Hanson is #1 on RTL because their videos are funny." Marie commented. "They sing better too" Marie replied. The video was over and Oli, the presenter came on.
"Brian might come get me. Doug says he won't but I know he will. He's probably here now. He has white hair like... the devil" Oli explained. Marie laughed. 
"He's so cute" Marie yelled. Paddy wrapped his arm around her waist.
"I'm a lot cuter" Paddy commented. Marie shook her head.
"He has humor and looks on you Kelly... I'd be very careful... He might steal me from you" Marie joked. Paddy leaned over and started to pull off her tank top.
"Not if I can help it" Paddy explained. Marie laughed as he trailed kisses over her bare stomach.

2 month later Marie moved to Paddy's in Bonn.
Marie woke up and looked around the dark room, getting ready for Paddy to come in from the tour. After 15 minutes, Marie was getting pissed so she got up and walked downstairs. She looked around the room, squinting her eyes since it was pitch black. Finbarr was standing by an open patio door.
"I thought I closed that" Marie said out loud to herself. She walked over and went to shut it. "It's a full moon, the weirdos are out, you don't wanna go out there" Marie exclaimed.
"They're aren't any weirdos out tonight" A raspy voice whispered in her ear. Without turning around, Marie ran out the patio door, hearing footsteps running behind her. Marie ran as fast as she could. She turned behind her. In the light of the moon she could see a man with weird brown hair running after her. She run out to the street. 
"Help" Marie screamed. She heard footsteps behind her.
Marie stopped running. She turned and faced her pursuier. He stopped running and a smile crept to his face. Marie walked over and started to pull at his neck, soon pulling off a mask and revealing Paddy's face.
"Happy Halloween" Paddy exclaimed laughing. Marie rolled her hand into a fist and started to beat on Paddy's chest.
"You're such an asshole" Marie yelled. "Beside it's not Halloween yet."
"Not? Uhmm sorry then." He replied.

"Where are you going?" Paddy questioned, starting at Marie. She was shoving clothes into a duffel bag.
"I called a friend and he's coming to pick me up." Marie replied. Paddy sighed.
"He?? When will you be back?" Paddy asked.
"Tomorrow when I'm not pissed off at you" Marie replied. Paddy shrugged. "See you tomorrow" Marie muttered.
She walked out of the room. Paddy called her name from behind her, but she still kept walking.

"Thanks for picking me up" Marie exclaimed.
"No problem" said Brian from the Westlife. They met in the party and became good friends.
"So, what have you been up to?" Marie asked.
"Writing for my new CD, getting drunk" He joked. Marie smiled.
"Oh, same with me" Marie joshed. He smiled and pulled into the hotel.

"Nice place" Marie exclaimed.
He lead her down a noisy hall. It smelled like shit, but she didn't comment on it. He opened a door and led her in.
"Well, since it's like midnight. I'm going to go to bed" Marie exclaimed.
"You can try, they won't sleep till 3" Brian commented. Marie sighed.
"What do you want to do then?" Marie asked. He smiled at her coyly.
"Well, I get free playboy" He exclaimed.
"Oh yeah… I would love that" Marie replied sarcasticly.
"Great" He replied, switching it on.
"I was joking" Marie replied. "Turn this shit off"
"This is good quality programming" Brian replied. Marie wrinkled her nose.
"This is shit" She replied.
She leaned over him and tried to steal the clicker. Because they were sitting on the bed. He leaned back. Marie climbed on top of him, trying to steal it from him.
"Give me it" Marie snapped.
She grabbed the end of the clicker where the volume button was. Groans and screams filled the room. She finally pulled it away and shut it off. She still had her legs on both side of him and was resting her butt on his stomach.
"Now what are we going to do?" Brian asked. Marie shrugged. She tried to stand up, but the bed was a waterbed and she fell backwords, her head hitting his knee. 
"That was cute" He joked. Marie felt something digging into her back. She went to go push it away, but she pulled her hand back.
"Um, what do you want to do? Besides watch playboy?" Marie questioned. He was quiet.
"I can think of a few things I've been wanting to do with you since I met you" Brian exclaimed. Marie sat up and smiled sweetly.
"You have a girlfriend" Marie exclaimed. 
"And you have a boyfriend, but a little meaningless sex never hurt anybody" Brian explained. Marie sighed. He brought his hands to her shirt and started to pull it off.
"I don't know" Marie replied.
He brought his head to her lips and kissed her. She sighed. It felt right even though she knew it was wrong. 
"I have to warn you, I'm a screamer" Marie explained. He smiled and flipped her over, into the bed.

"Marie, wake up" Brian yelled. Marie wiped her eyes. 
"I'm sleepy, leave me alone" Marie mumbled. 
"Well Paddy will be here any minute and you're naked in my bed. It don't look so good" Brian exclaimed.
"What? Why would Paddy be here?" Marie asked.
"He called around and found my hotel. The lady at the front desk just called and said he was on his way up" He explained. Marie got up and wrapped the sheet around her body.
"Where's my clothes?" She asked.
"Well, I don't know, I just threw them last night" Brian joked.
Marie didn't laugh, but she grabbed her bra and panties. Then she found her shirt and her shorts. She just pulled her shorts on when Paddy knocked on the door. Brian opened it up and Marie grabbed her bag. She smiled at him.
"I'm guessing you aren't mad at me anymore" Paddy exclaimed.
"I got a load off my shoulders, I'm fine" Marie replied.
She hugged Brian goodbye and left with Paddy.

"I'm tired" Marie complained on the ride home to Paddy's place.
"Why's that?" Paddy asked.
"Because, it was so loud there." Marie replied. Paddy was quiet.
"I talked to someone in the hotel on my way to Brian's room and he gave me another reason why you'd be tired" Paddy replied. Marie laughed uneasily.
"What did he say?" Marie asked.
"His exact words were 'They were screwing all night" Paddy snapped. He looked over at Marie.
"No, how could you even think that?" Marie asked. "Em turned on the TV. His favorite channel Playboy was on. He probably heard that. It took me like 10 minutes to get the remote from him"
"For real?" Paddy asked. Marie nodded. He laughed.
"I was kinda pissed. I mean, if you would've done that I would be devastated" Paddy explained.
"Big word." Marie joked. Paddy laughed. 

"Marie wake up" Paddy yelled. Marie opened her eyes. Paddy didn't look too happy.
"What?" Marie asked. She stared at the clock. It was noon.
"I hope you enjoyed yourself last night" Paddy yelled. Marie scrunched her nose.
"What are you talking about?" Marie questioned.
"You know Jack? Well, I called him. He's good friends with Brian I guess, so he calls him and Brian tells him that Marie Reno and him had sex last night" Paddy yelled. Marie made a face.
"No I didn't" Marie replied. "I told you last night…" 
"Don't lie to me" Paddy cut her off. "At least give me that"
"I didn't" Marie replied. Paddy stared at her.
"Get the fuck out of my house" Paddy muttered.
"Paddy please, just listen" Marie started.
"I listened to enough of your shit. How long have you two been doing this huh? While I'm away in tour?" Paddy questioned. Marie felt tears sting her eyes.
"Only last night" Marie replied.
"Only last night? I thought you only watched playboy last night" Paddy snapped. "So you screwed around and then lied about it? The least you could do is tell me the truth"
"Paddy, please" Marie cried.
"Get out" Paddy yelled. Marie got up and went to hug him. He pushed her away.
"Get your stuff and get the fuck out. I'm leaving and if you aren't gone by 3pm, you'll regret it" Paddy threatened. Marie watched as he walked out. She fell to her knees and started to cry. 

"He's in room 301 Mr. Kelly" the lady at the front desk explained.
Paddy started to walk towards the elevator. He jumped in and took it to the 3rd floor.
"You Kelly" Someone yelled as he walked down the hall.
Paddy gave him a weak smile and kept walking. He stopped in front of the door. He felt like so much shit. He wanted to break something. He had almost killed himself by driving 90mph on the express way. Paddy knocked on the door.
"You, hold on" A voice yelled from inside. The door opened and Paddy walked in.
"Paddy, what are you doing here?" Brian asked. Paddy looked over at the bed.
"Marie left some stuff here" Paddy lied. Brian looked around.
"Um, let me check" he replied.
He went by the bed and knelt down. Paddy came up behind him and punched him in the back. Brian was thrown off his balance and fell down.
"What the fuck? Are you Crazy?" Brian yelled. Paddy didn't say anything.
"I loved her, I loved her more than anything" Paddy replied.
"If you love her so much then why the fuck do you care what she did?" Brian asked.
"Because" Paddy replied.
"Good Answer" Brian mumbled.
He rubbed his back and stood up. Paddy went at him, but Brian saw it coming and punched him in the stomach. Paddy held his stomach and hunched over. Brian went and kneed him in the head. Paddy fell to the ground. He kicked Paddy hard in the face. Brian laughed. He pulled a bag from under the bed.
"Here's her shit" Brian muttered. He threw the bag at him and walked away. Paddy let his head fall to the floor as blood trickled from a gash on his head.

Marie watched as the minutes went by slowly. It was 2:30 and her taxi would be arriving any minute. She pulled it out and pushed around some tape and other junk that no one ever uses. She finally got to the back where she found a pack of pictures. She opened it up and smiled as Kira's face smiled up at her. She turned to the next one where Paddy and Angelo were posed in a weird position. The doorbell rang so she stuffed them in her bag. Marie looked around.
"Bye" Marie exclaimed to no one. She walked out and threw her stuff in the taxi.

"Tell me what happened again?" The fat nurse questioned. They were sitting in the nursing station of the hotel.
"I hit my head" Paddy mumbled. She wrapped gauze around his head.
"So you're single?" She asked.
"As of today" Paddy muttered. The nurse made a face.
"Well, you should be OK. Just don't fight with anyone else over some girl for awhile" She replied. Paddy looked up at her.
"How'd you know?" Paddy asked.
"Brian was in here earlier. He explained the whole thing to me while I got him some aspirin" The nurse replied. Paddy pointed to his head.
"Thanks" Paddy replied.
He walked out to his car and threw Marie's bag in back. He was thinking of burning it in a fire when he got home. 

Marie leaned her head back on her couch. She was sitting in her living room with Jess. She tried calling, but he always hung up on her or never returned her call when she got the answering machine. Jess was talking on the phone to someone in the next room. She heard Jess get up and footsteps come towards the living room.
"It's for you" Jess exclaimed.
"Who is it?" Marie questioned, taking the phone.
"Paddy" Jess replied.
Marie almost screamed, she had so much to tell him.
"Hello?" Marie asked.
"Hey" Paddy replied.
"What do you want?" Marie asked, she hadn't wanted it to sound mean, but it came out that way.
"Well, I had these pictures in my drawer and I know you have them, so can I have them back?" Paddy questioned. Marie had forgotten about the pictures.
"You can have them, if you come to get them" Marie replied. Paddy sighed.
"I think I have the roll, I can just get doubles" Paddy commented.
"I love you" Marie blurted out.
He might not believe it, but it was the truth.
"Marie…" Paddy started to protest. Marie cut him off.
"Paddy, I can't let it happen with us again" Marie explained.
"You already let that happen" Paddy mumbled. Marie heard a beep.
"I have another call" Marie explained. She clicked over.
"Hello?" Marie asked. 
"Hey" Brian exclaimed. Marie almost screamed.
"Why are you calling me?" Marie demanded.
"I love you too" Brian joked. "I went through a lot of trouble to get a hold of you"
"That's real great, but I'm on the other line with Paddy and I can't deal with you right now"
"I'll wait" Brian replied. Marie clicked over.
"Who's on the other line?" Paddy asked.
"Brian" Marie replied. Paddy was quiet. "Paddy?" Marie asked, waiting for some response.
"I think of you and me" Paddy muttered, hanging up the phone.
Marie made a face. 'I think of you and me?' Marie asked herself. 'What the hell?' Marie clicked the phone off. Forgetting about Brian on the other line.

"So let me get this straight. You hit my boyfriend…" Marie started. It was an hour later and she was talking to Brian on the phone.
"Ex-boyfriend" Brian corrected.
"You hit Paddy and now you want me help you sing a song at the Otto's?" Marie asked.
"Basically yeah. You told me awhile ago that you could sing and one of our choir is ill" Brian explained.
"Fuck you, I'm not doing anything for you" Marie muttered.
"You owe me" He replied.
"I owe you jack shit. You broke up my relationship" Marie explained.
"Excuse me miss I'm the only one that means anything in this world. You didn't exactly force me off you" Brian argued.
"I don't think I'm the only one that means anything, Paddy means something too" Marie replied.
"Oh I forgot, he really seems to like you at the moment" Brian joked.
"Listen, you go with me, we see Paddy, I explain to him some stuff and then you two will live happily ever after"
"I don't know… Being with you won't look good at all" Marie explained.
"Who knows, maybe you'll become famous, I'll send you over the lyrics and stuff" Brian explained.
"Ok" Marie replied, giving in.
"Great. Thanks" He said. Marie mumbled and hung up the phone.

"Marie how stupid are you?" Jess yelled. Marie had explained what had happened between Paddy and her. Jess hadn't said a word until now.
"I know Jess, I just want to make it up to him, I was stupid and I've been a total bitch, but I care about him" Marie explained.
"How are you planning to do that?" Jess questioned.
"You were listening to my conversation with Brian, you should know" Marie snapped. Jess shook her head.
"Fine whatever. You do whatever the hell you want" Jess replied.
"Do you know what I learned from the best is?" Marie questioned.
"Why?"
"Paddy said something about it to me"
"Well, um, their new single is 'I think of you and me'" 
"Do you have the CD?"
"No, but they are playing at the Otto's"
"Perfect"

Marie got herself a wine and turned around, practically smacking into Paddy's new girlfriend Lindsey. Lindsey looked up and automatically knew Marie.
"Sorry about that, next time I'll spill the beer on you" Marie muttered.
Lindsey opened her mouth to say something but kept it back. Marie walked away when she heard Lindsey call her name. Marie spun around and watched as Lindsey approached her.
"We want Paddy for the same reasons" Lindsey exclaimed.
"Excuse me?" Marie asked.
"Let's see, Brian gets a load of cash and you get with him and dump Paddy. It's obvious" Lindsey explained.
"What? No, Paddy broke up with me, in fact we aren't even officially broken up yet" Marie exclaimed.
"Please, you don't need to explain to me. I'm not stupid" Lindsey explained.
"You sure fooled me" Marie muttered, walking away from her. Marie took a drink from her beer and smacked into Jimmy.
"I'm bumping into everyone tonight" Marie commented. Jimmy laughed and took her wine and brought it to his lips.

"I can't take it anymore. People think we're screwing around" Marie explained. Brian shrugged.
"I wouldn't mind that" He joked. Marie didn't laugh.
"I honestly think that if Paddy and I can get through this then we can last forever" Marie commented. "I just love him so much"
"You know what I hate about you? You always tell other people how you feel, you never tell the person it's directed at what you feel. Say what you mean. It makes people feel better, it'll make you feel better too" Brian explained.
"If I told you how I feel about you. You wouldn't like me anymore" Marie mentioned.
"Whatever made you think I like you?" Brian joked.
"The gold Otto in the categorie The Best Band goes to…The Kelly Family" Sasha announced.
"Thank you, we wanna thank our fans for your support over those years. Thanks to all our co-workers and familes." Paddy said.
Then the Kellys started to play a few song. The last one was "I think of you and me" by Paddy.

"Well, I guess you two are getting back together" Brian joked.

"I think, it's really cool you took that job" Jess exclaimed.
Marie glanced over at her friend.
"Well, it's all I could get" Marie replied.
Jess was referring to the job she took at heairdresser's. She did the modeling and anything else she could help out with.
"It's better than I've got Marie. You should be thankful and stop complaining" Jess snapped.
"I'm not complaining. I just wanted something better for me then this." Marie explained.
"Well, I'm an unemployed and you don't see me bitching. Brian helped you out with letting you sing at the Otto's. You got offers, but because you're a hardheaded, you turned them down. So, I don't want to hear to complaining to me. Especially when you screwed up with Paddy." Jess grumbled.
"I haven't even mentioned Paddy" Marie commented.
"If you wouldn't have gone with Brian. Then you wouldn't be here right now." Jess explained.

*Ding dong*
"Yes?" Marie opened the door.
"Miss Reno?" a man asked.
"Yeah, that's me, why?" Marie asked.
"A package came for you" he said.
"Um, OK. Who sent it?" Marie asked.
"Some blonde guy bought it and asked me to deliver it here" the man said.
She heard a soft whining coming from the large package on the ground. Marie slowly ripped off the wrapping paper uncovering a small yellow lab puppy.
"He's so cute!" she exclaimed.
Marie glanced at the tag that was stuck to the package.
"It's a she" Marie replied.
She took the box and thanked the deliver.

She walked a block to the store the man had told her the package was from. She walked in and grabbed a leash from the wall.
"Excuse me. Could I buy this?" Marie asked. An older man stood up and started to ring it up, then he glanced at the puppy.
"Did you buy that here?" He questioned.
"Actually, I got it" Marie replied.
"Oh, that was you? It's from my store" He replied.
"Could you tell me who sent it to me? I want to name it after the person" Marie lied.
"Well, he gave me his cell phone number. He was tall and blonde. That's all I remember, I could've sworn I've seen him before" The man explained, handing her the number.
"Thanks" Marie replied.

"It had to be Paddy who sent me the dog" Marie explained. Jess coughed.
"Marie, I love you. You know that, but I've had a hard day and I don't think telling me your problems will help any" Jess explained.
"But Jess, who else would send me a dog?" Marie questioned.
"Maybe Brian, I don't know but Paddy wouldn't do it. Didn't you say the guy gave you a number. Call him up, be creative. You always have" Jess replied.
"I guess" Marie replied.

"Hello?" Lindsey asked. Marie took a deep breath and kicked her plan into full blast.
"This is the Pet Store. I was wondering if a man lives there with you?" Marie asked in a high voice.
"Um, hold on" Lindsey muttered. "Paddy, phone"
"You don't have to scream" Paddy scolded softly. He took the cell phone and sighed.
"Hello?" Paddy asked.
Marie was so happy to hear his voice she didn't reply right away.
"Hello?" Paddy asked again.
"Yes, did you send a dog to a miss Marie Reno today?" Marie asked in her high voice.
"Yes I did. Why?" Paddy asked.
"Well she came in today and we explained to her you brought her the dog. She seemed very happy." Marie replied.
"Well, I gave it to her as a break-up gift. To show her it's over" Paddy explained.
"No offense, but you don't give someone a dog when you want to break up with them" Marie replied.
"Listen, if she bothers you and comes in again I'm at the Holiday Hotel. Just tell her to meet me there sometime, I'm here till Friday" Paddy explained. "I gotta run… Miss?"
"Jenkins, Laura Jenkins" Marie lied.
"Bye" Paddy exclaimed.
Marie wrote the hotel down and smiled, she'd gotten what she wanted.

Marie jumped into a taxi and headed towards the hotel. He had practically asked her to come to meet him when she'd acted like someone from the pet store on the phone with Paddy.
"Where to?" The taxi driver asked.
"Holiday Hotel" Marie replied.

"There's no Paddy Kelly" the receptionist exclaimed.
"Are you sure?" Marie asked.
"I'm positive" She muttered. Marie sighed.
"Listen, I'm suppose to meet him and…" Marie started.
"Listen, you're the 2000th person today that has an "appointment" with Paddy Kelly. He isn't here and you don't know him" the women snapped.
Marie opened her purse and took out some pictures of her and Paddy.
"I was his girlfriend. Now we're broken up and I still like him. I love him and I'm not going to leave until you tell me what room he's in" Marie exclaimed. The women observed the pictures. A guy came up next to Marie at the desk.
"Any messages?" He asked. He was tall and was wearing a hat that covered his face.
"No" the women replied.
The man from the desk walked away. Marie snatched her pictures back from the women and sighed.
"Never mind. Forget it" Marie exclaimed.
She left the front desk and followed the guy to the elevator. She stepped in with the guy and sighed.
"10th floor please" Marie exclaimed.
The guy hit the button and laid back on the elevator wall. Marie stared at him until he looked over at her.
"You have a problem?" The guy snapped. Marie noticed it wasn't Paddy.
"No" Marie muttered.
The doors opened to the guy's floor and he stepped out. Marie leaned back against the wall and closed her eyes. When it got to the 7th floor the doors popped open. A guy jumped into the elevator and looked over at Marie. She still had her eyes closed. She felt stupid for even coming to the hotel and looking for Paddy. She felt stupid for even going out with Paddy. She felt pathetic for still wanting him, to feel his cheek against hers when he hadn't shaved and the prickles massaged her face. She sighed, she was gonna give up.
"It's not worth it" Marie exclaimed out loud.
"Marie?" Paddy's voice asked.
Marie opened her eyes and swallowed hard. She hadn't even looked at the guy who'd gotten into the elevator.
"Paddy? What are you doing here?" Marie asked.
"I stay here for a while. Why are you here? At the hotel I mean" Paddy asked.
"I'm here visiting my friend" Marie lied.
"Oh, that's cool" Paddy replied. He looked her over and smiled. "You look good"
"You look good too" Marie replied.
She was resisting the urge to jump his bones right in the elevator. The dreaded beep rang out from the elevator, indicating Marie was getting off. Paddy wrote his number down on a piece of paper quickly and handed it to Marie.
"Call me sometime" Paddy exclaimed.
Marie turned around and watched as the doors closed. She just stood there for a few minutes trying to remember everything that happened and not forget anything.

"So did you see him?" Jess questioned.
"Only for a few minutes" Marie mumbled.
"You know what, I thought only guys could be pussy whipped, but you're so whipped" Jess commented.
"What is that suppose to mean?" Marie asked.
"You, like millions of other women, are infatuated with Paddy Kelly. Everything he does, turns you on and you can never be mad at him, but god knows you want to be sometimes. With every word he says you smile and everything he says you remember word for word. You're like an obsessed fan... except you actually got some from Kelly" Jess explained.
Marie was going to omit, but it was the truth.
"But life went on Marie. It always does" Jess commented.
"Does it Jess? I don't think so. I can't stop thinking about him and I'm so close I can't bear to loose him" Marie replied.
"Listen, just try to be in Paddy's shoes. It sucks to be the one that gets screwed by someone else. It hurts and you might think you feel the pain, but Paddy had to deal with it. So, my advice is just to be friends with him. If that doesn't work out, you can't be b/f and g/f again" Jess explained. Marie sighed. 
"I hate when other people are right" Marie muttered.
She dialed Paddy's number and held the phone close to her face.
"Hello?" Paddy asked.
"Hey Paddy, it's Marie" Marie started.
"Marie, hey! What's up?" Paddy asked.
"You wanna go get some coffee or something? I know this place real close to your hotel" Marie explained. Paddy considered it for a second.
"How's 8 sound?" Paddy asked.
"Great" Marie replied, trying to stop from screaming.

Marie sat at a little table in front of the tiny coffee shop. She checked her watch to see that 8 o'clock had passed by 45 minutes ago. Paddy was 45 minutes late. She sighed. 'He probably went to the wrong coffee shop Marie thought to herself.' She glanced around to see couples hugging and talking sweetly to eachother. Marie pulled out her cell phone and dialed Paddy's number. It rang and rang and nobody picked up. The waiter came over and smiled at her.
"You waiting for someone?" He questioned.
"Yea I am" Marie replied. The waiter sat next to her.
"What time was he suppose to be here. It is a he right" The waiter asked.
"Yea.. It's my ex boyfriend. I screwed up with him and I want him back-I guess he doesn't forgive me though. He was suppose to be here at 8" Marie replied.
"Well, how about you give me your number and if he comes I'll tell him to call you. Or I'll call you" The waiter replied. Marie smirked.
"Is that a really pathetic attempt at getting my number?" Marie questioned.
"It could be" He replied. Marie laughed.
"I think I'll just go to his hotel and wait for him there" Marie replied, leaving the waiter by himself.

"You again" Marie mumbled as she went up to the front desk.
The woman who hadn't given her Paddy's room number stood behind the desk.
"Yes! How can I help you?" She asked.
"I'm looking for Paddy's room number and don't screw around with me this time" Marie exclaimed.
"There is no Paddy!" The lady started.
"There is a Paddy Kelly here. I talked to him yesterday and if you don't give me his room number I'm going to complain" Marie explained.
"Miss, if you were so good of friends with Paddy. Why wouldn't he just give you his room number?" The lady asked.
"I never asked" Marie replied. She smirked and whipped out her Nokia cell phone and dialed Paddy's room.
"Hello?" Lindsay asked.
"Hey there. What room are you in? This is the pet store and we have an animal to deliver" Marie lied.
"I'm in the presidential suite" Lindsay replied. 
"Is there a Mr Kelly there?" Marie questioned.
"No, he just left. The stupid asshole broke up with me! How can anyone break up with me? I'm the best girlfriend anyone could ever have... Not to mention the sexiest! I loved…" Marie cut her off.
"I'm sure you did. Do you know where he is?" Marie asked.
"No and I don't care either… I hope he burns in hell!!! I know why we broke up though. He told me he saw his ex yesterday and now he's all happy and shit. She cheated on him, she made him misrable and I made him happy. But he still goes with that slut" Lindsay complained.
"I'm sure you'll find another pathetic loser. Don't worry" Marie exclaimed, hanging up the phone. She took off down the lobby back towards the coffee shop.

"Was there a woman here?" Paddy asked. A waiter looked up at him.
"Did she look like a model? Blonde curly hair, great body?" He asked. 
"Yeah" Paddy replied
"She was here, but this asshole stood her up so she left to go to his hotel" The waiter replied. The waiter had glared at him when he'd said asshole.
"Thanks a lot" Paddy replied. He opened the door and ran back towards his hotel.

"Hey there!" Marie exclaimed, smiling at the waiter that had been flirting with her.
"Hey" he replied.
"Did a man come in here? Long blonde hair" Marie asked.
"Yeah. You just missed him. I told him you went to his hotel and he left" The waiter replied. Marie sighed.
"Life sure doesn't want me to get with him" Marie muttered.
"Just try his hotel again, I'm sure he's there" The waiter replied. Marie stood up and left the coffee shop.

"Has Paddy been here?" Marie asked the lady at the front desk. The lady looked up. 
"You're a VERY obsessed fan, aren't you?" The lady joked. Marie read her name tag quick.
"Listen Megan… All I want to know is if he's been here. We were suppose to meet at this coffee shop and I just missed him" Marie explained. Megan read her face.
"You seem determined enough. Listen, Paddy was here a few seconds ago. He asked me if I'd seen you in the lobby and I told him you had just left-so he left" Megan replied. Marie sighed.
"Thanks" Marie replied.
She walked out of the hotel slowly and walked back to the coffee shop. 

"I missed her again??" Paddy complained. 
"Yea" The waiter exclaimed.
Paddy sighed and opened the coffee shop door. He started to walk the sidewalk back to his hotel. It was dangerous for him to be walking by himself, but he was too tired to care. If fans wanted to come and talk to him, he wasn't going to stop them. Paddy crossed the street and got over to the other side of the street. He had his head down and when he heard a car beep loudly he looked up for a brief moment. On the other side of the street he saw a woman with blonde curly hair walking in a short black skirt. He smiled.
"Marie??" Paddy screamed.
Marie looked up and stared at him. Marie had a huge smile as she started across the street. Paddy smiled.

"Marie, how are you" he asked as they were in the bar.
"Fine, you?"
"Me too!"
"So… you broke up with Lindsey?"
"Yeah, I just couldn't stand her any longer. Besides everybody told me that all she wanted were my money."
"Oh!" Marie sighed disappointed.
"And there is one more reason. The most important reason. I still love you Marie!" he took her hand.
"So do I!" she said. "I'm sorry that I hurt you. Please forgive me!"
"I forgive you, baby!"
They kissed each other and left the café.
